this is usually how my music making progress goes
i program all the electronic bits and drums into Modplug/OpenMPT and export each individual channel
i record the guitar parts along with the OpenMPT stuff in audacity, then fix the levels and whatnot in Kristal
not the best programs i know but not much i can do when i have like no money on more legitimate programs :’) so there’s that
